A Captivating Spiral Sculpture House Redefining Living in Bali’s Lush Jungle”

As an architect, I embarked on an audacious and transformative journey to craft a residence that breaks free from traditional living and fully embraces the essence of freedom within Bali’s vibrant jungle. Commissioned with a simple yet profound request – ‘We’ve spent our lives in boxes – now we seek the opposite’ – I set out to create an architectural masterpiece that defies gravity and enthralls the human spirit.

Drawing inspiration from the elegance of nature and a desire to challenge architectural conventions, the design concept took shape as a mesmerizing figure-eight spiral, offering continuous fluid movement and ever-changing perspectives. This unique radial design delivers a captivating and immersive experience, liberating residents from the constraints of the past and inviting them to embrace a new, carefree way of life.

The connection between the house and its verdant surroundings was of utmost importance. Meticulously chosen materials, including concrete, wood, and natural stone, seamlessly blend the structure with the natural surroundings, adding a touch of sophistication and modernity.

This project presented unique challenges that demanded innovative solutions. Bending materials in two dimensions and resolving intricate geometric complexities required careful planning and collaboration with skilled artisans. It was an expedition into uncharted territory, pushing the boundaries of architectural possibilities.

Throughout the process, close collaboration with the clients remained essential. Their active participation in material selection and design enriched the project, fostering a sense of shared ownership and a deep connection with the final outcome.

The house stands gracefully on a steep slope, seemingly floating above the ground, seamlessly integrating with the jungle environment. Thoughtful landscaping blurs the lines between the house and nature, transforming the structure into a living entity that symbolizes unity with the surrounding environment.

The strategic layout of the house ensures that each room offers breathtaking views and a sense of discovery. From the intimate bedrooms to the communal spaces, each area becomes an oasis of tranquility, immersing residents in the serene beauty of the jungle.
