The design team took the opportunity to work along the 100-foot wide stretch of seashore to elevate their design. The site contours are segmented into four levels offering an unparalleled experience to the guests. “Rather than constructing a conventional restaurant and bar, our goal was to craft an immersive environment that blends seamlessly with the natural surroundings.

The initial design concept aimed to evoke the rustic allure of a bygone ancient civilisation and was achieved through a creative blend and juxtaposition of organic and contemporary design elements, resulting in a seamless fusion of diverse cultural influences that gives rise to an enchanting ambience”, expresses Ar. Abhigyan. The entrance at the Mayan Beach Club serves as an eye-catching architectural element that envelops guests in the mystique of an ancient civilisation, piquing their curiosity.

The white-washed walls are adorned with sparsely-placed bamboo in an Aztec pattern, creating a visually striking space. An interplay of light and shadows is created, as daylight penetrates the bamboo louvres creating a sense of depth in the environment. The club’s branding font conjures the essence of an ancient tribal world from the distant past, elevating the sense of enigma and exploration. The flooring draws inspiration from the cobblestone streets found on Greek islands, imparting a Mediterranean allure by using carefully chiselled Carrera marble fragments. The entrance is adorned with potted vases containing ferns, various wooden artworks, and hanging floral cane lights, creating an aura that exudes an air of intrigue and enchantment. This diverse fusion of influences enhances the design’s richness and personality, setting the scene for a memorable experience. As you move towards the beachside, you can immerse yourself in the beauty of nature. The outdoor areas provide a scenic view of the sunsets or to enjoy the night full of stars. The beach club is designed to cater to various user groups, preferences and moods. It offers a wide selection of seating arrangements from cabanas to semi-open shamianas to align with the preferences of the diverse population visiting the restaurant. A staircase seating area with elevated tables, the signature design element of Chromed Design Studio, planned by the ocean, allows guests to immerse in the sound of gentle waves. At the heart of the Mayan Beach Club is a sculpture featuring Lady Maya from the folk mythologies, symbolising a “lost tribe.” Flanked by dried palm fronds from the adjacent cabanas, this striking centrepiece introduces a natural and sophisticated touch. This spot acts as a popular destination for the younger generation seeking to capture their evenings and experiences as cherished memories linked to this location, making it highly Instagram-worthy. The cabanas embrace a welcoming colour palette that includes elements like wood, rattan, bamboo, and dried palm tree leaves. For the mezzanine structures, the team opted for polymer thatch, a robust and long-lasting material, while natural thatch graces the roofs. Making sustainability the key theme, they incorporated reclaimed railway sleeper wood, dividing it into two parts: the outer shell and the inner core. The outer shell is utilised for the columns, while the inner portion serves as the decking material for these structures.

To ensure durability, the team made careful use of composite materials and wood to counteract concerns about corrosion from the water and moisture in the air.
Adding to the theme of the club, macrame hangings, decorations adorned with shells and
beads, and cane lights create a welcoming ambience in the evenings. The material palette is complemented with white curtains and green potted plants enhancing the blues of the ocean. Custom-designed furniture and decor items crafted from wood and rattan combine class and durability while aligning with the surroundings. The use of rugs and cushions introduces a burst of vibrant colours in the interiors while the lounge area with plush furnishings provides comfort reflecting an easygoing atmosphere. The club does not limit itself to relaxed atmospheres but also offers a party-like atmosphere featuring an open dance floor allowing the guests to groove to the beats of the DJ. The boho lighting fixtures with vibrant colours amplify the sense of festivity and joy in the decor. The club stands as a cultural marvel with custom-made Mayan-inspired patterns laser-cut into Bison board and backlit, giving these majestic designs a radiant glow. Attention to detail is evident even in the restrooms where micro-concrete beige walls are embellished with organic mirrors, complemented by a wash basin counter made of wood. To further engage the guests in the theme, wood carvings are placed in the sand which reflects the tribal heritage. Mayan masks and totem poles have been thoughtfully incorporated into the design that acts as a focal point inviting guests to congregate, socialise, and become immersed in the lively energy of the club. Mayan Beach Club is a perfect example of elements that celebrate ancient cultures, skillfully merging various influences to craft a mesmerising ambience. From the Tulum-inspired entrance to the artistic wall paintings, cosy cabanas, and coastal luxury, each aspect has been carefully designed to whisk guests away to a domain of sophistication and serenity. Dive into the magnificence and coastal allure of the Beach Club for an indelible and unforgettable adventure.
